I believe 98 still has cable throttle, 99+ the notorious ETM, which fails a lot.

NA will get better gas mileage than the turbo, how much depends on how often you get into the turbo. Lite feet get better mileage than phat.

The turbo engine is very reliable, duzn't have the flame trap (again notorious) that the NA has.
