Timing Belt Change S60 2001

At 105K miles, BOTH t-belt and its mechanical tensioner need to be replaced according to your owners maintenance book. There are a couple of tricks to replacing that belt and tensioner. The belt sells for roughly $50, $100 for the tensioner and about 3 hours labor (t-belt and tensioner ONLY). A 105K service is more time than that as the car also gets a new fuel filter at 105K, LOF and tire rotation, etc.

If you're not familiar to replacing that belt and its tensioner (UNLIKE older model 850s and '98 X70s), I'd highly advise paying a dealer to have it done. If not done correctly, things can get very costly if valves hit pistons and yes, that's possible.
