catalytic convert question 850 1996

It's completely broke off right where it leaves the cat. I have a feeling this is because I've gone about 40,000 without a functioning air pump, and therefore no fuel trim. I hear that can ruin your cat. Anyway, for a little over $200 it's really not a big deal. I am more concerned about the cat not being a volvo product. Are cats made by A&B good quality?
