why you might want to consider using a dealer for a service..

OK i hate main dealers, mainly because of the costs..

I have a car i use for work, and work pay me a car allowance to run it..i choose to run a '95 850 cos the depreciation is low and i like bricks...

picked it up cheap with 60k on it...had a new set of disks and the timing belt done by a specialist indy (volvo only!) and a full service etc...

did the basic stuff myself(new sparks, airfilter, flame trap, dizzycap& rotor etc)

came time for the next service and for various reasons ended up taking it to the dealer...

they did a basic 10k service (nothin else on the paperwork)...and the car now CONSISTANTLY returns 2mpg better around town, 4 mpg better on the highway..

I can only think they did some sort of ecu software upgrade or something..perhaps WORTH the money for 4mpg better (given thats a 10% increase in mpg!)
