no you dont. not to look at the timing belt cover. i just did my water pump and the only t hing you need to go in the wheel well for is maby turning the entire pully system with the ol' 30 mm {i belive } or to get the tensioner out/in. the bolt hole for the cover is easily accessable from the top. just feel for it " in the center " of the cover
