We just bought a 2004 V70. Tested the R. A little more then I wanted to spend, but a great car. I don't have a lot of technical knowledge sine the is my first Volvo. I had driven VWs for 16 years and my last one, a Eurovan, had $6000 in repair bills during the past two years. The van was only 4 years old and only had 48,000 miles. I pray my Volvo doesn't follow the same pattern.
