As far as the mirror goes, I wrote the following a few days back:

I have a 96 850 Turbo Wagon I just bought and my rearview mirror was loose too.
1. First pop out the little map lights with a flat head screwdriver (there are little slits there to do that)
2. Next, look for two screws (i believe that they are Torx 10)
3. After removing those screws, the whole plastic unit can be pulled off (I left mine hanging by the wire, but I believe that there is a simple clip to disconnect the wires)
4. This point is where my repair went wrong...My mirror fell out. Apparently someone made some 'mods' in their..it was not even bolted in. There are supposed to be 2 more torx screws holding the mirror in...(not sure on the size, but NOT Torx10) I unfortunately did not have a Torx driver big enough to loosen the screws and connect my mirror the right way.
Hope this helped.
