Correct hex key size? 850 1994

Does anyone know the correct size hex key to fit the center shaft of the Bilstein HD shock? Is it Metric? 7mm seems a little loose and 8mm doesn't fit. My set doesn't have a 7.5mm, and I don't know if that size is even made. Is it possibly an SAE?
