For the most part yes it should bolt right up. The AW42 trans you are referring to is actually an AW50-42 and the 960 box is called an AW30-40. The M56 will bolt right up to your motor but you will have to contend with the difference in the torque stays, they may be identical and bolt right up. You will have to install the shifter cables and mechanism to shift it. Optimumly it would be nice to have a donor car to get all of your stuff from and to be able to see how it comes apart and goes back together. It has been awhile since I have had to do a clutch in one of those cars but it is trippy to see how they did the shifter cables in it. I remember when I was in New Car Product back in '93 they showed us how you could swap the cables on the gear shift and it would take the nuetral "slot" from being a left to right horizontal affair to being a fore to aft vertical deal. It was weird to drive because you are used to the usual "H" pattern and this turns it sideways to more of an "I" pattern and you move the stick left to right to run through the gears. I am sure after reading this that you will just have to run right out and do it. :D
