A wet 850! 850

Well we had this thing called Frances go by in the last couple of days, and having put my wife's Volvo in the one-car garage (!) mine was left out in the storm! My dear wife suggested covering it up with old sheets, etc to keep debris from damaging the paintwork, and to this end I jammed the sheets in the doors - no accounting for supidity or was it "oldtimers" decease. The result was that the sheets acted like a wick and this morning, after the weather cleared up, I had two inches of water in the left foot wells. Bailed it out and when we got power back ShopVacced. What do I do next, do the experts advise taking out the carpeting, or just keep vacuuming ou the remains of the water?
Please don't tell me it was a dumb trick - I already have realized that.
