I have read some post about a sun sensor on the dash that calls for extra AC if the sun is on the front window.

If you spy a sensor, maybe you could cover it when you park in the sun.

Have you tried running the fan with the windows open for a while before you turn on the AC?

BTW - Do you shut the AC off before you end your trip?
