Is there some dirt, rust, etc. in your fuel tank which sloshes around on corners or up/down hills and sometimes prevents the fuel pump from drinking up fuel? Or a broken internal baffle in the tank? I have had this happen to a couple of cars >10 years old. Gets worse if tank is not very full. If you suspect this, I think you can look into the tank by removing the fuel pump. Use a non-sparking light!
