Sid;

You said you wouldn't recommend a transmission shop.

If it's a GM transmission, why can't a transmission shop rebuild it for less than the Volvo dealer will charge for a new rebuilt one? If they can't rebuild a transmission in a modern GM car why be a transmission shop?
