Brick gurus.. recommend me the basics for a tuneup. 850

Hi Oliver - I read with interest your information on the tune-up. I have a nice (new!) tool kit with lots of metric sockets and other things like hex wrenches. I think I would like to try and do a tune-up on my 850 GLT - 1993 with 178,000 miles. I started doing mechanics on my car last year. So far I have replaced the starter, an ignition switch and just this week the PNP. Do you think doing a tune-up would be too hard for someone new to mechanics? I will be coming on on the timing belt in 10,000 miles. That would not be a DIY, would it? Any idea on how much should I be paying to have it done?

Your thoughts would be so appreciated. Sincerely, Marcia in Seattle

PS: I also have an '82 240 w/190k. It looks like it might be easier to learn on. What do you think?
