If you're going to keep the car, then use the dealer to replace the tranny.
DO NOT USE indie's tranny shop for the newer volvos.

The S80 is very sofisticated and requires software download with the vadis cart.

If I were you I would trade the car for a 2002 or newer S60 with VIP warranty, more reliable than the early S80.
