I'm relatively sure that AMSOIL and Mobil will both tell you that their synthetic is not a replacement for the Volvo ATF for the AW55 5speed automatic (which I assume you have).

The Volvo stuff is pretty good-- if it were my car, I'd get enough Volvo fluid to replace what I could drain out of the pan--probably under 4 qts. This will refresh the additive package. If you do that every 15-20,000 miles, I'd expect very long life from the tranny.
