FYI , On your 99 V70, you have what the call "Throttle by wire".
You don't have a throttle cable, Rather, your gas pedal has a wire connection to the computer and the "electronic throttle body". I just had my replaced and they are not cheap. $225 approx used (90 day warranty) and new $550 plus labor and software upload to match your car computer to the throttle body module.
