97 keyless entry and alarm 850

The problem is not in the lock/alarm system, but in the remote fob. The remote circuit board is dirty or cracked. Pry open the remote and clean the circuit board contact surface with contact cleaner or rubbing alcahol. If problem persists, try E bay for a remote.
