I guess you vehicle has DSTC?
Check the basics first before spending lots of money in replacing expensive contrl units!!!
For instance, start with checking the connector to Steering angle sensor for possible poor contact in the terminals.
Maybe your Volvo repair shop can diagnose the problem better for a low cost.
