Check Engine Light , etc. V70-XC70 1999

The odometer failing to work at times is another tale that your ABS module is on the fritz. The speedometer/odometer works thru the ABS module who gets its input from the front ABS sensors.

Check the connector to the ABS module, is known to get loose and cause havoc. Volvo had a TSB about this loose connector and rec placing a plastic tie around the module and connector. Go to volvospeed.com and do a search on ABS modules, I wrote about the TSB and even posted a picture of it.

The OBD II reader is easy to use and it will clear codes after you read them. Go to PepBoys and get a decent one for about $99.
