Uh, 12 volts ? Its belt driven. Go here to read up on it http://www.volvospeed.com/Repair/airpump1.htm . It may be a control valve and not the pump. Read through the article and see if you want to mess with it. It really doesn't hurt anything not working, just that you get a CEL and that's annoying.
