Daryl,
If this "Tire Place" you speak of has a red triangle as part of their logo, then
I would suggest that you follow a rule that I adopted about 12 years ago when I took my 760 in for a tail pipe and they gave me a $2400 estimate for replacing the turbo that was working just fine...
My rule - "Never let those guys under the hood." Tires = okay.
