changing heater hoses 850 1994

I just did this on my 95 850. As the other poster said you squeeze the 2 clips and pull. I used a long-nose pliers and wiggled a bit to get the barbs on the clips free. That done, I could fairly easily pull each hose back about 1-2 mm. Getting the hose out the rest of the way took a much harder pull and wiggle.

You need to account for all the sealing rings and spacers. I bought my hoses with hardware from EuropartsDirect and there was a sheet with a couple of sketches on it.

The original hose had on the ferrule (in order) retaining clip, spacer, black sealing ring, spacer, and finally another black sealing ring at the very end. You can withdraw these with a little hook such as a hex wrench or dental pick if they stay inside the bulkhead fitting when you pull the old hose out.

The new hose had (in order) retaining clip without spacer, black sealing ring, spacer, and another black ring. The new hose's retaining clip was longer, making up for the thickness of the spacer originally there.

With the right set of rings and spacers the new hose snapped in definitely and fairly easily, making a snug fit.
