Toxic sunflower seeds?

I'm glad that your dog's OK but I'm now wondering about sunflower seeds. We have 2 dogs and feed birds with sunflower seeds too. When I fill the feeder, some seeds spill and the birds spill them too. The dogs eat the seeds but have never acted unusual as a result. I then assume that either your dog ate ALOT of seeds and/or your seeds might have been moldy from being on the ground/damp?
