Yep, true but then I HATE ALL convertables. They're ALL known to problematic and troublesome. Ask anyone who works on them, ANY type of car.
[rant]Look at ANY older convertables rag top and see how nasty they get when they age. They discolor, rip, tear and repairing them is VERY costly. The top will probably be the most expensive thing to repair someday for those who keep one long enough.
A good example of a another bad convertable is the older Mustang Fox bodys. Even IF the rest of the car still looks nice, the rag tops are almost always nasty looking thus making the whole car look bad.
They only look good when the top and windows are all down but should be always left down, NEVER used to go back up. I'd consider one for those occasional nice days (not wet, not too hot/cold or too sunny) IF I lived in a place where rain was rare, like AZ and even then it'd only go out on rare occasions. It'd be a "toy", not a car used daily.[/rant]
