The two numbers after 'LS' is a code for the engine type. My pocket data only goes to 1998 where a 52 is a T6, 55 is a 2.5N/A, and 56 is a 2.5T
The 2.5 light turbo delivers about 200 hp and the T6 2.3 has about 250hp.
