MAF Sensor S70

Has anyone had their MAF sensor out recently? Is the one platinum wire that you can easily see with the ceramic in the middle, Is that the wire that you clean if your MAF sensor is throwing a code, but the engine runs very smooth?

I am getting generic code P1171 from the Autozone code reader. I reset it using the battery unhook method, but the code came back in a day.
