First, look for a new mechanic. No GOOD mechanic replaces good parts with new parts unless he is trying to pay for a condo in the Bahamas.
Check the fuse box for a blown fuse. If your car is a 93-95 check the codes yourself. If it is a 96-97 goto an Autozone and have them help you read them, then go to Bay13 to see what they mean - or email me and I can tell you what they mean from my Pocket Data Booklet.
If they changed the thermostat they probably didn't reconnect the sensor. It does NOT need a new blower.
