I finally had the hunting idle solved. The dealer had wanted to replace the entire throttle body, already done by the prior owner in 2003. I was willing to spend the $1000, but wanted to be sure first. As it turns out, it was a cleaning job, with the main culprit being a plugged whole in the manifold (banjo fitting?)...cleaned as part of the throttle body cleaning. This job apparently requires either removal of the intake mainfold, or the power steering pump. My throttle body was not too dirty, but the whole in the manifold was plugged. Does anyone have any experience cleaning the throttle body AND unplugging the whole? I paid $415 for this job, and it included only $3.72 for parts. (This included resetting od the SRS light due to my replacement of the front seatbelt.) How long did it take? What did you have to remove?
