The Tire Guides books are industry reference books. They have complete listings and cross references for the size, load/speed rating and brands of tires that come on all new cars. I don't know of a way to get this complete information without paying for the book. The info that I put in my note was taken from that book. There might be some isolated reference for particular vehicles that you can find on the internet, but I am not aware of them.
If you notice on tirerack.com they list tire options of H, V, W, Y, Z speed ratings for most all Volvos. You can actually use a lower S or T speed rated tire but the handling will probably be reduced compared to H or V rated tires.
