I just about guarantee that the microswitch in the door latch mechanism is going. I had the exact same thing last summer and teh administrator on Bay 13 supplied teh info and even part numbers. Generally, the whole latch is replaced, but you can actually buy just the tiny microswitch and replace it with a little soldering of wires into latch wiring harness. That is what I did, and I'd say I spent better part of three hours between disassembling door, wiring the new switch into harness, and reassembling (first time for me, and would be perhaps two hours now). The microswitch alone was $44. mail order from FCPGroton. Go to Volvospeed.com - Bay 13 and I think there is some write up on how-to as well. FYI, there are two different microswitches in that latch, the other is for the alarm, I think.
