electronic throttle sensor/module(ETS) failures are common in '99-'00 models and expensive to repair, dealer only repair to the tune of about $1100.

ETS failures not as common in '01 and newer, SO if it was me I would buy the '00 only if it came with a dealer extended warranty to 100K miles, otherwise the '01 S60 is a better buy.
