Try asking Yannis over at Swedespeed for details...
According to Yannis, they still "can" be special-ordered with the 5-speed manual. Unfortunately, "special ordered" could take 8-12 weeks, which could mean forgoing whatever incentives Ford has going on at the moment. This, in turn, could bring a T5M up to near the same price as the 300HP V70R AWD 6-speed, with the incentives.
In effect, you'd be paying more for less.
I'm not convinced that Volvo has the R completely sorted out, although the '05s seem to be much better than the '04s. The "active" suspension and headlights still scare me. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but I have to do something since my '98 is starting to get long-in-the-tooth. I might just lease an R, rather than buy one!
