I have just had transmission fluid changed at the dealer. I paid $280 to have it changed, but I not only prefer to go with Volvo synthetic, which is quite expensive, but also the dealer uses a total flushing machine, which also makes the process more pricey but also more thorough. If you do not use the flushing machince, you can replace about 50% of your trany fluid. I guess the question is whether it is worth it to you. I think that paying $280 is somewhat excessive, but I do want to know that when I have my fluid changed that I have close to 95% of fluid replaced and not 50%. I guess this is me.
