Whining noise in CD S70 1998

Could be one of the following two things...
1. Drive motor is going (time to replace)most likely if pitch is constant.
2. Ground fault (check your harness behind the radio, and trace back
to where it grounds to the frame.) most likely if pitch varies with engine
rpm.
