This is a very common problem and a simple fix. Go to: http://au.geocities.com/ozbrick850/door-stay_fix.html

I did the above fix in about 30 minutes myself (you can lift the door off yourself) for a total cost of about $1.50. Beats the heck out of the cost of welding. My fix has been in place for one year with no problems.
