My wife just started a new job 30 kms away and has to travel through some feral badlands. Hijacking is not yet a huge issue here in sunny Sth Australia but being a Volvo driver is and attracts attention from a few morons and I guess I would feel more secure with her driving with the doors locked.
The car is fitted with an aftermarket remote system that can be programmed for anti hijack feature. Interestingly my old (pre - computers)1973 Renault 16TS unlocked the doors if an accident occurred ....a steel ball rolled up an incline and bridged some contacts to unlock the central locking.
