Handbrake adjustment 850 1996

A fairly basic request I hope. I've just had new front rotors and pads fitted but the pedal seems very soft - a fair bit of travel. I've also noticed the handbrake need adjusting. Might the two issues be related and is there a site on the web describing how to adjust the handbrake? I've tried Bay 13 and Ozbrick.
