Replacing battery cable S70 1998

First try cleaning the clamps thoroughly with steel wool. However, battery cables DO go bad over time. I am not sure of the physics or the chemical processes, but the resistance increases with age. If in doubt, I recommend that you buy a new Volvo cable. The problem with buying replacement battery ends at a car place is that they have to be clamped to the cable. The stock units where the ends are soldered are much better.
