Why did you have to replace the battery? I've heard of others who thought a battery was the problem and replaced it and ended up with similar hesitation as you have. Not saying it's the same thing, but could be the charging system isn't doing its thing. Our cars need a live battery to even run...not just to crank. Just a thought but worth looking into. Just test your battery to see how many volts it's putting out. Anything less than 12 could be a sign...most of the time it will read near 13 or more.
