I agree with Klaus - it is a high-pressure hose and will withstand some severe shocks. Brake fluid can reach 400 degrees F and hundreds of lbs/square inch under hard use.
That being said, I recently found a crack in one of the front flex hoses on my 95. It was near the caliper fitting - evidently due to constant flexion. This car has been driven on plenty of rough roads and other parts like stabilizer links, shock absorber bushings, etc. have needed occasional replacement.
I have had brake hoses crack or even leak on other cars 10 years old or more. Could be worth a visual check - and also if a hose is not routed correctly it might abrade on a strut or other part and eventually wear through. A broken stabilizer link or splash panel could move out of position and damage the hose too.
