If you do a search in this forum you will find where some experienced people offer advice on how to proceed without the tool. Also, here is another forum which has some advice:

Mark (Rule308) on this forum and a gent over at this address advise how to do it without the tool. Good luck - it sounds like it isn't a big deal (once you get everything out of the way!)
