Did the change make a difference in the feel of rotating the key in the cylinder?

I'm asking because my ignition feels a little sloppy, I can barely detect the detentes (stops) in the different positions. No real problems, but maybe time to replace.
Hard to explain, sorry if this question isn't clear!
