Frugality Part II.
Someone out there toot the Volvo horn and make me feel good about driving this Swedish thing until my 4 year old turns 16, whereupon he drops to his knees and praises me for being the coolest dad EVAH for handing him the keys to the venerable V70.
Yeah, well... I was gonna turn my T5 Volvo over to my daughter, in fact I bought a new Acura to replace it, but the stick shift turned out to be a big, and I mean big issue. So my daughter now drives mom's old Honda, Mom has a new Honda Odyssey (BTW, technologically, the 2005 Odyssey is an impressive machine), and now I have a winter/NYC/RR station beater, which is worth so little as a trade that I can't bear to sell it.
Anyway, don't bet on your son falling to his knees, my daughter didn't talk to me for about a week after our last stick-shifting lesson.
Did I mention that I weighed the Tyvek envelope that I file all my Volvo repair receipts in and it's 3 1/2 pounds? Or that I just replaced most of the AC system?
My Honda repair receipt file has one sheet of paper and it won't register on the scale.
