Thanks for the advice on the ignition switch. I tried it but unfortunately it didn't work. I read through some previous threads on this board and I saw a suggestion to remove the battery and tray and clean the connections. I also removed the blue grounding wire from the body and cleaned it with a wire brush. When I put it back together it started right away with no driveability problems yet. Hopefully this will solve the issue. Is there anything else i should be looking for in case this doesn't fix it permanently? Thanks for all your help.
