Rear passenger window switch not working, what do I check for? 850 1995

Stuart--went outside and removed my rear door switch just to satisfy myself whether the switch was hardwired or not. It is not. Should have checked it out before I picked up a piece of misinformation that I unfortunately passed along. That means you can disconnect it, take it inside, pour yourself a cold glass of white wine, and repair it at your leisure. Take a one or two-inch putty knive and carefully slip it under the edge of the switch. Pry up, enough so you can get your fingers under it, and wiggle it loose. You will see the little tabs that hold the white connector to the underside of the switch. Disconnect, and then look at the metal clips on the side that hold the top of the switch on. To remove the center command though you have to remove the center console cover. Look at your worthless Haynes or Chilton manual for instructions. I think there might be a post on Bay 13, which is a real help to people using this site. Punch up volvospeed.com, search around till you see Bay 13, enter it, find the menu, and pull down to one under chassis or some such description, and look there. If it's not there, peruse that site carefully anyway, familiarizing yourself with all the things that can and do go wrong with your car, including general mainteance, like changing out belts and water pumps, etc. There is a post there regarding removing the PNP switch, which has to do with shifting, and to get at it you have to remove the center console. It is an absolute wealth of information for repairing your 850. I've found it almost impossible to locate similar information posted here on this BrickBoard, despite their search engine. Dick
