There are 2 drain holes beneath the trunk lid, one on each side. There is a hose connected to these holes that runs behind the fender to drain the water that gets beneath the lid. You will get water in the spare tire well if the hoses become disconnected. Pull off the trunk liners on each side and you'ee see what I mean. The hose can come off when cleaning the line out (I use compressed air occasionally to blow out the debris).
