Well I just got back from a nice two weeks off (thanks GM!). Anyways I spent a fair amount of time in my “new” 94 850 wagon. My previous car was/is an 85 240DL Wagon. I knew that car very well, and could tell exactly when it was going to shift and even how to get it to shift if I wanted it to. This car on the other hand is a bit different. I noticed that while driving uphill at highway speeds (75ish), the tranny would sometimes downshift when I didn’t think it was really needed, but I’m writing this off as just a characteristic of the 850 and me not being used to it. The real issue (to me) is the up shift. I think it takes the tranny too long to up shift. I had the fluid flushed and such, but the issue is still there. It sometimes won’t up shift until I’m going down the other side of the hill other times it shifts at about the apex (normalish). I found the code 1-1-4 which is “Program selector open circuit or short circuit to supply” I have no clue what that means in English.
So… Do I have an actual issue, or is it just me being paranoid?
