compressor not kicking on 850 1997

I have a 97 850 that I just replaced the blower motor on. I just bought the car as is and the blower was not working but , I remember I could feel cold air through the vent and I also remember I could here the compressor turn on and off when I turned the ac switch on and off. I have replaced the low pressure switch and that is not it. Does anyone have any ideas. The car has 102 k miles on it.
