A/C works when going slow 850 1994

Had Air Conditioner fixed 1 1/2 ago (around $1200+).
Everything seemed to be working o.k. until this summer.
I noticed that when I hit the gas pedal hard the air stops
getting cold. If I drive real easy all the way home it works
fine. Any ideas why the air stops getting cold when I punch the pedal?
